My Art-Farce-One blog is just basically a loose collection of art projects I've been working on, or a random thought or two. By all means, feel free to critique/comment away. As always, unless otherwise stated, all images © of Anthony Reyes, Jr.

Plum Smugglers Flag
An awesome weekly pub trivia team needs an awesome flag to represent it.
Unfortunately, we're a team of drunken idiots, and I'm a shitty designer.

Art Show Promo Poster
Mark had two great ideas for the art show title: "The Art of the Flame" and "The Thrill of the Grill". I thought they were both kick-ass titles and couldn't decide betwixt the two. So I came up with the idea of doing a vintage boxing poster concept to promote our art show in the Spring. I still have to make some changes, but here it is so far.

AFO Skatedeck
I'm designing a skate-deck for charity where each deck is bid on by people (thanks Jeff!) using my own AFO brand. Not that I'm a huge fan of this design, but I really want to bid on my deck so I've got my own AFO skate deck. I love WW2 and nose art that you see on planes, so that's my influence. I wanted to put a cute girl on there like airplane nose art usually have, but I don't have time to put that on. I'll let everyone know how much the deck goes for.

Pig render, final
Here is the version that's 90% complete.
I'm deciding if I want the apple to be realistic to draw attention to it, or if I should leave it vector like the rest.
The apple, which intended to be a ball-gag, turns into a symbolic forbidden fruit with the innocentness of the pig. Also, note the a nice juxtaposition between the warm, organic pig and the cold steel of the grill. Note it!

Here is the pig now with cel-shading applied to it. I wanted it to really look like a vector cartoon. It's really coming along together here as I apply different "shading" techniques to the pig.
With colors, I've probably put 10 hours into it so far.
The arrow is merely my reminder of where a potential light source is coming from.

Mark and I's secret project...shh...
So my friend Mark and I are working on a major art project that could get us our own art gallery showing. The purpose is basically combining advertising and illustration into fine art, with the premise being sexy cartoon animals (that can be barbecued) selling grills. Mark's quite the chef and grilling is his passion. So Mark approached me with his idea, and I jumped. His idea for a double entendre headline is, "Grilling. It's how MEAT wants to get DONE."
We went back and forth on all kinds of edible animals, and sexy ways they can be shown posing with the grill. A roasted pig was an obvious choice, but what kind of sexy fetish could we apply to it?
My first thought was to have a pig in S&M bondage. It would be tied, or trussed up, with an apple as a ball-gag in its mouth. I went back and forth with Mark on sketches, trying to make the pig look a) sexy, and b) like it wanted to be involved in S&M. I couldn't.
So I came up with a compromise to Mark: could I take the innocent lamb/school girl outfit idea and apply it to the pig? Mark was okay with it, and we decided on this sketch.
